MEMBER ENGAGEMENT GUIDELINES
Date of Last Revision: May 31, 2020
Our goal for the Beatimi platform is to provide tools and services for Catholics to develop online prayer groups, as well as to offer resources for the formation of intentional believers, in faithfulness to the magisterium of the Catholic Church. We ask that you use the website, and related resources only as intended. Any other use is prohibited.
Also, we ask all Beatimi members to abide to the following guidelines and rules of conduct:
FAITHFULNESS TO THE MAGISTERIUM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
Beatimi is a Catholic ministry and we work in faithfulness to the magisterium of the Catholic Church. We welcome our non-Catholic brothers and sisters to join our network, but we ask everyone not to promote any content or opinions that are contrary to the official teaching of the Catholic Church.
Also, we do not endorse personal views or opinions of the users and members of our services. We support their work inasmuch as it is faithful to the Catholic Church.
BEATIMI: INTENDED USE & PROHIBITED BEHAVIOR
This website and the services available here have been created for the global Catholic family of believers to help connect, encourage and strengthen each other in faith. Please respect these engagement guidelines.
To the extent that our sites or media outlets offer comments, responses, forums or other similar user participation, please be aware that you cannot advertise, solicit, bargain, or exchange money, goods or services on our site. Abuse, harassment, bullying, intimidation, threats, and other negative content will also not be tolerated. We reserve the absolute right to remove anyone for behavior we deem is offensive or illegal. We can’t monitor all participation and content related to our sites and media outlets, and so there should be no expectation that these types of behaviors won’t happen from time to time. Please, report any such behaviors to us immediately if noticed at firstname.lastname@example.org.
SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT RULES AND ONLINE SAFETY:
BE RESPECTFUL & KIND: Please be respectful of our brothers and sisters and practice the cultural behaviors in your interactions by being careful with your words, inviting others in and being 100% for one another. Make sure you are honest and accurate in your posts, and if you make a mistake, correct it quickly. Never share rumors or hearsay, controversial and political content or derogatory comments. Keep in mind that our network may span many cultures and languages — and translations may not always come through perfectly.
DO NOT SHARE SENSITIVE INFORMATION & RESPECT PRIVACY: Please be respectful of the privacy of yours and others. Please use your best judgment and do not overshare in your communication with others or in your prayer requests. Do not share sensitive or confidential information. Protect your personal information (e.g. phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, instant messaging info, etc.). Remember that your posts and other forms of communications are public. If you believe anyone is violating or asking you to violate these rules please don’t hesitate to contact us right away.
Other helpful hints for staying safe online:
Remember: once posted, always posted. Protect your reputation on our and other social networks. What you post online stays online. Build a positive online reputation.
Keep personal info personal. Be careful how much personal info you provide on social networking sites. The more information you post, the easier it may be for someone to use that information to steal your identity, access your data, or commit other crimes such as stalking.
Know what action to take. If someone is harassing or threatening you, remove them from your friends list, block them, and report them to the site administrator.
Use strong passwords. Make sure that your password for the membership services offered on our website is at least eight characters long and consists of some combination of letters, numbers, and special characters (for example, +, @, #, or $).
Look out for phishing attempts. Phishing is a type of social engineering attack often used to mislead and/or steal user data. Always use caution when interacting with others. We cannot monitor all content posted by the members of the network. Some of the posts may contain links that can sometimes contain harmful software or be part of a phishing attack. If you are at all suspicious, don't click it. Contact your friend, someone you trust, to verify the validity of the link first.
If you have any questions or comments about the above guidelines, please contact us at email@example.com.
